The Life Science Library is a series of hardbound books published by Time-Life between 1963 and 1967, popular in its prime. Each of the twenty-six volumes explore a major topic of the natural sciences. They are intended for, and written at a level appropriate to, an educated lay readership. Each volume takes complex scientific concepts and provides explanations that can be easily understood.
Create a cohesive branding reinterpretative execution that spans across three separate volumes.
This project I picked Man and Space, Time and Mathematics to be my redesigned books.
Using geometric shapes to simplify the old design and giving a new perspective to readers.
In this project, I had to listen to the five movements (Allegretto, Andante, Moderato, Allegretto, Andante con moto) of Sinfonietta (Janáček) and designed a 18"x24" poster for each of the five movements of the song. They are different from each other in design, concept or tone.
This project is to create a stunning portrait of the letter h, take a stance on the personality of the letter. Give it characteristic that are true to it's form, make it into something unexpected, make it exciting.
Ideas: H means Hong Kong also means home, so I made it 3 dimensional and looks like a house.
Final piece is a 16x20" poster.
Each student has been given a different type of foundry, and will research this foundry and create a beautiful and engaging poster to illustrate the essence of the foundry. Begin by doing research on the content and then sketch-ing multiple options.
